Welcome, NC (Sports Network) - Richard Childress Racing revealed on Thursday that Brian Scott has signed a multi-year agreement with the team to drive the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro in the Nationwide Series.

Scott is replacing Elliott Sadler in the No. 2 car after Sadler has departed RCR and moved over to Joe Gibbs Racing. Phil Gould will serve as Scott's crew chief and Shore Lodge will sponsor the team's efforts for the 2013 season.

"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to drive the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the Nationwide Series," Scott said in a team statement. "RCR has proven over the past 13 years that it can build and prepare winning cars in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and has for a variety of drivers. I just want to be the next name on that list. RCR has a rich tradition of winning races and championships at the highest level of our sport, and I am excited about being a part of an organization, like theirs, that is committed to winning."

Scott, a 24-year-old from Boise, Idaho, drove the No. 11 car for Joe Gibbs' team the past two seasons, finishing eighth in the point standings in 2011 and ninth this year. During his 2010 Nationwide rookie season, Scott ran the first 28 races for the owner Todd Braun and then concluded the year driving for owner Robby Benton. He has yet to win a Nationwide race but has scored five top-five finishes and 23 top-10s in 109 starts.

"Our goals for 2013 are going to be set at a high level, and we are going to do everything within our power to achieve those goals," Scott added. "On a personal level, I think I am going to fit in really well. Richard Childress and a lot of the people affiliated with RCR are avid outdoorsmen and that matches my background as well."

Sadler finished second to champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. the previous two seasons. He won four races in the No. 2 car this year.
