Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially signed center Andrew Bynum.

Terms were not disclosed, but the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the Cavaliers reached a two-year agreement with a player who missed the entire 2012-13 season due to balky knees.

According to the paper, Bynum will earn $6 million guaranteed this coming season, while the second year is a team option. ESPN reported it is an incentive-laden deal that could be worth up to $24 million.

"We are very happy to welcome Andrew to Cleveland and the Cavaliers organization," general manager Chris Grant said in a statement Friday. "His talent, size and experience clearly have the potential to very positively impact our team. He has the ability to strengthen the foundation we are creating and continue to be very excited about. At the same time, we are fully aware of where he is in his journey to get back on the court and will provide every resource possible to support and enhance this process."

The 7-foot Bynum never took the court after the Philadelphia 76ers acquired him from the Los Angeles Lakers last August. He had arthroscopic surgery on both knees in March.

Bynum, 25, averaged career highs of 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds while missing only six games during the shortened 2011-12 campaign. Mike Brown was the Lakers' head coach that season and the two will now be reunited in Cleveland.

Selected by the Lakers with the 10th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Bynum has averaged 11.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 392 career games. He won two titles with Los Angeles and was an All-Star in 2012.

The Cavaliers also waived forward Kevin Jones and guard Chris Quinn.
