New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry have been named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for games played in April.

Anthony, who finished the 2012-13 campaign as the league's scoring champ (28.7 ppg), averaged 36.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest while playing in eight of New York's 10 games to lead the Knicks to an 8-2 mark and help the team secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NBA Playoffs.

Anthony poured in at least 40 points in three consecutive games, including a career-high tying 50-point effort in a 102-90 win at Miami on April 2.

Curry connected on 9-of-15 attempts from 3-point range during the month en route to establishing a new NBA single-season record for made 3-pointers with 272, eclipsing the previous mark set by Ray Allen in 2005-06.

Curry averaged 25.4 points and 8.1 assists per game as he guided the Warriors to a 5-3 mark and helped the team secure the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

Others nominated included Brooklyn's Deron Williams, Detroit's Greg Monroe, the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and Utah's Al Jefferson.
