New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James and Kevin Durant were named on Friday the NBA's Players of the Month for December.
James ranked second in the Eastern Conference in scoring with 24.6 points per game in December, scoring at least 25 points five times for the Miami Heat, who went a conference-best 11-4 in the month.
Durant won the Western Conference award for the second month in a row. His Oklahoma City Thunder led the NBA with a 14-3 overall record and 8-1 road mark in December and he ranked second in the league with 29.4 points per game.
Other nominees for the awards were Cleveland's Kyrie Irving, Golden State's Stephen Curry, Indiana's Paul George and Lance Stephenson, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota's Kevin Love, Orlando's Arron Afflalo, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge and Toronto's Kyle Lowry.
