Recap: Golden State vs. Memphis

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Marc Gasol and Mike Conley combined for 42 points on Friday as the Memphis Grizzlies knocked off the Golden State Warriors, 104-94, at Oracle Arena.

Conley netted 21 points to go with seven assists and five steals, while Gasol put home 21 points to go with six rebounds and five assists for the Grizzlies, who fell to the Los Angeles Clippers in their season opener on Oct. 31.

Rudy Gay swished home 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Zach Randolph posted his second straight double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Wayne Ellington donated 10 points in the triumph.

"We have to continue to play together and get better," Randolph said. "Some nights it's going to be tough, but tonight everybody contributed."

Stephen Curry scored a game-high 26 points and dished out seven assists, while Carl Landry had 20 and six rebounds in the setback for Golden State, which edged Phoenix on Wednesday.

The game remained close for the majority of the opening quarter, as the Grizzlies held a slim 17-14 lead with 4:34 left in the frame.

Memphis pulled away a bit with an 11-4 burst to take a 10-point advantage, and led by eight after the first stanza.

The Grizzlies opened the second quarter with a quick 10-4 spurt, capped by a Quincy Pondexter slam, to build up a 38-24 lead.

The Warriors though, responded with a 20-2 surge, culminated by a pair of free throws by Landry to grab a 41-40 advantage with 4:39 to go before halftime.

Conley buried a 25-foot 3-pointer at the other end for Memphis, sparking a quick 7-2 run, and giving the Grizzlies a 47-43 lead.

Tony Allen finished the first half with a driving layup with 4.9 on the clock as the Grizzlies took a 51-47 advantage into the locker room.

Curry buried a 26-foot 3-ball with 6:37 left in the quarter to cut the Warriors deficit to 59-56, but the Grizzlies followed with nine straight points to build the lead back to 68-56 with 3:33 left in the stanza.

"They're good, they're a playoff team," Curry said of the Grizzlies. "These are the teams we have to beat if we're trying to get to where we're going. We basically gave them the game with free throws and turnovers."

A three point-play by Landry trimmed the deficit to nine, but Memphis held a comfortable 75-63 advantage heading to the final 12 minutes of play.

The Warriors did not get closer than eight in the fourth quarter as the Grizzlies rolled to the easy win.
