Recap: Atlanta vs. Miami

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Ray Allen drained the go-ahead baseline jumper with under two minutes remaining and LeBron James narrowly missed a triple- double, as the Miami Heat topped the Atlanta Hawks, 95-89, at Philips Arena.

The Heat played without star guard Dwyane Wade, who remained at the team hotel due to a cold.

James, who had 21 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, hit a key jumper with 13.6 seconds left. Chris Bosh had 24 points and Allen netted 17.

"I am cursed," James kidded about not getting a triple-double. "I just heard it's my 20th time in my career where I've had one either rebound or assist to get, so I said 'thank you' to my teammates when I walked in here and saw the box scores. But it's all good, it's all about the win."

James limped off the court with 36.4 seconds left in the first half after banging knees with Josh Smith. James was driving to the hoop when his right knee collided with Smith's left knee. James exited immediately to the locker room, but was on the court to start the second half.

Allen drove the right baseline and hit a shot over Kyle Korver with 1:22 left for a 91-89 lead. After Smith missed a pair of free throws, James drove back DeShawn Stevenson and hit a pull-up jumper. Allen sealed Miami's fourth straight win at the foul line.

Jeff Teague had 20 points and 11 assists to pace the Hawks.

"It was a very hard-fought game," Hawks coach Larry Drew said. "I thought my guys and competed at a very high level. We played good in spurts and again we showed some resilience, particularly when we got down by nine or 10 in the fourth quarter. We kept fighting and actually took the lead, but this game is about making plays down the stretch."

A pair of free throws from Lou Williams had the Hawks within 72-71 going into the final quarter, but the Heat opened the fourth on a 10-2 burst.

Helped by a pair of 3-pointers, Atlanta later surged into the lead. Al Horford's layup gave the hosts an 87-85 edge with 3:26 to play.

Bosh countered with a pair of foul shots and then made a jumper before Teague evened the contest with 1:41 left by hitting a pair from the charity stripe.

The game was tied after 12 minutes and it stayed tight throughout the second quarter, but Atlanta managed a 46-42 halftime edge.
