Recap: Washington vs. Golden State

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - David Lee recorded a double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds, as the Golden State Warriors held off the Washington Wizards, 101-97.

Klay Thompson made five 3-pointers en route to 23 points for the Warriors, who have won the first three games of a seven-game road trip. Golden State has won the first three games of a road trip for the first time since 2003.

Stephen Curry added 22 points and five assists. He left the game briefly in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury.

"We've got good momentum right now. The team's playing well," Curry said. "We're finding all sorts of different ways to win. We had to hold on when they were making all those crazy threes at the end, so I'm just glad we got the win tonight."

Jordan Crawford ended with 22 points, eight assists and seven boards for the Wizards, who fell to 2-15 on the season. Bradley Beal donated 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Washington guard A.J. Price fractured his right hand four minutes into the game and will be lost four to six weeks.

"I knew I hurt myself right away, but I was going to try and play through it, came down I think the next possession and tried to throw the crosscourt pass and really couldn't get anything behind it," Price said.

"I figured if I can't pass, then I'm just going to hurt my team."

The Warriors led by as many as eight in the first quarter and took a 28-21 lead into the second.

Golden State scored the first five points of the second stanza to make it a 33-21 contest.

However, Washington responded with a 14-6 run to keep it close. Cartier Martin tallied six points during the surge, which Kevin Seraphin capped with a layup to cut the gap to 39-35 with 4:23 left.

Martin made back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 39.9 seconds to get the Wizards within three, 50-47, at the break.

Neither team led by more than six in a tight third period that ended with the Warriors holding a 71-70 edge.

Golden State started the fourth frame on a 7-0 flurry to take an eight-point lead. However, Washington responded with a 9-0 run to go in front by one, 79-78.

With the score tied at 84, Thompson made two free throws to give the Warriors the lead. After Nene missed a layup, Jarrett Jack made a running layup to give Golden State an 88-84 margin with 3:32 to play.

The margin grew to eight, 93-85, after Thompson made a 3-pointer and Lee made a jumper.

Crawford and Beal made 3-pointers down the stretch to keep the Wizards alive. Beal made the first of two free throws with 4.2 seconds remaining to cut the gap to 99-97. Beal grabbed his own rebound after intentionally missing the second shot from the foul line. Festus Ezeli, though, was close by and blocked Beal's shot.

Carl Landry made two free throws to seal Golden State's victory.
