Recap: Utah vs. Charlotte

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Enes Kanter posted career-highs of 23 points and 22 rebounds to lead the shorthanded Utah Jazz to a 98-68 rout of the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.

Kanter went 10-for-12 from the field filling in for Al Jefferson, who sat out with a sprained left ankle.

DeMarre Carroll also set a career-high with 19 points, Gordon Hayward added 14 points and Derrick Favors finished with eight points and seven rebounds for the Jazz, who were also without forward Paul Millsap due to a left ankle sprain.

Jeremy Evans, the 2013 NBA Dunk Contest runner-up, also set career-highs with 14 points and nine boards in the triumph.

Byron Mullens scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Ramon Sessions added 11 points off the bench for the Bobcats, who have dropped five straight and 13 of their last 15 games overall.

Utah led 21-9 after the first 12 minutes of the game thanks to a horrendous shooting effort from Charlotte, which went 4-for-20 from the field in the frame.

Things didn't get much better for The Bobcats in the second, as they were outscored 26-15 by Utah and went into the break trailing 47-24.

The Bobcats finished the half 11-for-44 from the field and went just 2-for-6 from the free throw line.

Charlotte turned its shooting around in the third, but couldn't find an answer for Kanter who dropped in nine points and pulled down seven boards in the frame. The 20-year-old big man went 4-for-5 from the field in the period.

The Jazz lead swelled to 33 points late in the fourth as they put the brakes on a three-game skid.
