Recap: Golden State vs. Atlanta

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Harrison Barnes recorded his first career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, sparking the Golden State Warriors to a 92-88 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Oracle Arena.

David Lee scored 18 points with 10 boards and five assists for the Warriors, who overcame 23 turnovers by outscoring the Hawks, 46-20, in the paint.

"We have to work on taking care of the basketball, but I thought we did a great job of attacking the paint," Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said.

Stephen Curry totaled 12 points and seven assists to help Golden State snap a two-game slide.

Lou Williams scored nine of his 18 points in the final 1:13, but it wasn't enough as Atlanta lost for the third time in four games. Josh Smith posted 16 points and 10 boards, while Ivan Johnson added 15 points in the loss.

Atlanta, without the services of Al Horford (stomach illness), was beaten on the glass, 44-29.

"When you have guys go down that bring that much to the table it's tough," said Williams. "All the other guys stepped up and we had a chance to win, but this was just one of those games that came down to two or three plays that went the other way."

There were five lead changes in the first quarter and none after -- despite Williams' best efforts in the final minute.

Klay Thompson's strong take on the left side yielded an 86-77 lead for the hosts with under two minutes to play, but Smith threw down a dunk and Williams drained a 3-pointer to make it a four-point game.

At the other end, Curry lost the ball off his foot before recovering and executing a perfect give-and-go with Lee with 55.5 seconds to go. Williams hit another triple to pull within 88-85, and Barnes was fouled after grabbing a rebound off a Curry miss.

The rookie hit both at the foul line before Williams again was true from long range. Still, the Warriors prevailed thanks to Jarrett Jack's two clinching free throws with 10.7 seconds on the clock.

The Warriors scored five of the final six points in the opening frame for a 22-21 edge, then netted 32 points in the second quarter to go into the break with a 54-46 cushion.

Kyle Korver netted all 14 of his points in the first half and like the rest of the Hawks was limited in the third quarter. Atlanta made just one field goal in the final 4:50, and Richard Jefferson banked in a runner in the closing seconds to give Golden State a 71-60 advantage.

An 11-2 run fueled by six straight points by Johnson got the Hawks back in it. A Johnson slam had the deficit at 81-77 with under five minutes remaining, but Atlanta missed its next five shots and two free throws.
