Recap: Minnesota vs. Golden State

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - David Lee notched a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 106-98 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

Harrison Barnes also scored 18 points and added nine rebounds, while Stephen Curry had 17 points and six assists for the Warriors, who have won two straight.

Carl Landry netted 15 points off the bench and Klay Thompson donated 12 points in the victory.

"I like to see guys aggressive, I think that's a result of the guys scoring double figures. They are making plays and were playing closer to the pace we want to play at," Warriors coach Marc Jackson said. "We would like to play faster, but I think not having a home run hitter we need balance. Different nights it is going to have to be different guys."

Derrick Williams netted a game-high 23 points and Alexey Shved added 22 points for the T'Wolves, losers in two straight and three of their last four.

"We missed not having our big man in there (Nikola Pekovic) to get those rebounds that we need, but we cant rely on that," Williams said. "Injuries happen and guys have to step up. We can't complain, we have a couple days off and have to get back it Wednesday."

The T'Wolves are without key players Kevin Love (hand), Ricky Rubio (knee), Brandon Roy (knee), Pekovic (ankle) and Chase Budinger (knee).

Golden State led 82-69 to start the fourth quarter, but Minnesota shaved that lead to three at 92-89 with just over four minutes to play.

Curry then buried a jumper from 20 feet out to push it to 94-89, but a pair of Dante Cunningham free throws brought Minnesota back within three. It would be as close as Minnesota would get, as the Warriors outscored the T'Wolves 12-7 over the final 2 1/2 minutes.

Minnesota led 27-22 after one quarter after shooting 50 percent from the field in the frame. Williams scored 13 of his points on 4-of-6 shooting in the period and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.

Golden State outscored the T'Wolves by a 31-23 margin in the second to take a 53-50 advantage into the break. The Warriors were 13-for-22 from the floor in the frame despite going 0-for-5 from 3-point range.

Curry's big third quarter helped Golden State push its lead to 13. Curry scored nine points in the stanza, while Lee and Barnes each chipped in six.
