Recap: Atlanta vs. Orlando

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Al Horford netted a game-high 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks topped the Orlando Magic, 81-72. on Monday at Philips Arena.

Louis Williams contributed 14 points off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting, Zaza Pachulia added eight points and 11 boards and Jeff Teague finished with nine points and seven assists for the Hawks, who have won three of their last four games.

"We got a lot of stops. I think we did a lot of good things on the defensive end," Williams said. "Collectively, we forced some turnovers and were able to score off those turnovers."

Glen Davis scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Magic, who have lost seven of their last eight. Jameer Nelson, E'Twuan Moore, Josh McRoberts and Moe Harkless added eight points apiece, while Nikola Vucevic grabbed 13 rebounds in the setback.

After a back-and-forth first quarter which featured 10 lead changes and four ties, the Magic held a 23-21 advantage.

The second quarter was just as tight, with three lead changes and a pair of ties. Trailing 37-35 with 3:50 left in the opening half, the Hawks scored the final six points in the stanza to take a 41-37 lead into the locker room.

The Hawks pulled away in the third quarter, using an 18-8 run capped by a deep three from Kyle Korver, to build the lead up to 59-45 with 6:03 to play in the frame.

A jumper by Andrew Nicholson put an end to the run momentarily, but the Hawks kept scoring and finished the third quarter with a comfortable 65-49 lead.

The Hawks outscored Orlando 24-12 in the decisive third session and held the Magic to just 6-for-22 shooting during the period.

Williams finished a run-out with an easy layup with 6:37 on the clock, giving the Hawks their largest lead of the night at 76-52.

Orlando kept fighting and got the deficit down to nine, but did not get any closer.

"I wish it was running more smoothly right now, but we're going to continue to work," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. "We've shown the ability to focus and take care of things that weren't right in one game to the next, now we just have to put it all together at one time."

Game Notes

Atlanta has now won seven straight meetings with the Magic ... The Hawks shot just 38.2 percent from the floor, while Orlando hit 37.8 percent of its shots ... The Hawks turned 19 Orlando turnovers into 24 points.
