Recap: Cleveland vs. Philadelphia

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Jeremy Pargo scored a career-high 28 points and the Kyrie Irving-less Cleveland Cavaliers snapped a six-game skid with a 92-83 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Dion Waiters and Alonzo Gee added 16 and 14 points, respectively, for the Cavaliers, who avenged an 86-79 loss to the Sixers in Philadelphia on Sunday.

C.J. Miles donated 13 points for Cleveland, which had lost six straight against the 76ers. Anderson Varejao tallied 10 points and 19 rebounds.

"It felt like I took the building off my shoulders and the top of my head," Miles said. "I just wanted to get out there and let the game come to me. I knew I would be getting more time on the floor, so I wanted to get out and run, try to get to the basket and not force anything."

Jason Richardson and Jrue Holiday had 16 points apiece for the Sixers, who had a three-game winning streak stopped. Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young each recorded a double-double.

The Cavaliers went 11-of-26 from the field in the first quarter, while the Sixers went 3-of-18 from the floor. Cleveland closed out the period on a 14-4 run to build a 13-point lead. Miles tallied five points during the surge to help give the home team a 28-15 margin after 12 minutes.

Cleveland's lead reached 19 early in the second stanza, thanks to an 8-0 spurt. Omri Casspi and Pargo had four points apiece during the flurry to give the Cavaliers a 36-17 edge with 8:48 to go.

Philadelphia responded with an 18-5 run to make it a game. Young tallied seven points during the surge to pull the Sixers within six, 41-35, with 2:02 left.

However, the Cavaliers scored the final six points of the frame to take a 47-35 lead into the locker room.

The Sixers tried to make another run early in the third, going on a 15-5 flurry to start the quarter. Richardson tallied 11 points during the burst to help cut the gap to 52-50.

But the Cavaliers came right back with a 13-0 push. Gee scored the final five points of the spurt to give the home team a 65-50 margin with 4:22 remaining. It was a 68-58 game heading to the fourth.

Cleveland held a 79-69 lead after each team went on a 9-2 push. Philadelphia, though, had one last run, as an 8-0 flurry got the Sixers within 79-77 with 3:29 to play.

The Cavaliers delivered the knockout blow via a 13-0 run over the next two minutes. Waiters, Pargo and Miles made 3-pointers to make it a 92-77 contest with 1:33 left.

"I knew about him (Pargo). I watched him in college (at Gonzaga), he can play," Holiday said. "Obviously, he was going to come out with a lot of energy and he came out hitting a lot of shots and he was really good."
