Recap: LA Clippers vs. New Orleans

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Greivis Vasquez made five 3-pointers en route to 25 points, as the New Orleans Hornets snapped a seven-game skid with a 105-98 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Vasquez also dished out 10 assists and pulled down six rebounds for the Hornets, who won for the first time since Nov. 9. Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith added 17 points apiece.

New Orleans shot 50.7 percent from the field and went 15-of-25 from beyond the arc.

"We came out here with a mission," Vasquez said. "Tonight our shots went in and we got it going."

Clippers forward Caron Butler set a franchise record with nine 3-pointers. He went 12-of-24 from the field and 9-of-15 from beyond the arc for 33 points.

Chris Paul donated 20 points, eight assists and four steals for Los Angeles, which has lost four in a row. Blake Griffin was limited to a career-low four points on 1-of-9 shooting.

The Clippers went 18-of-37 from three-point range to set a club record for the most 3-pointers made in a game.

The Hornets held a 22-19 lead following a tight first quarter that featured seven lead changes.

Holding a 31-28 edge with 8:20 remaining in the half, New Orleans went on an 8-0 run to create some distance. Brian Roberts and Anderson made 3-pointers during the burst to make it 39-28. It was a 51-44 game at the break.

The Clippers used an 8-0 flurry midway through the third stanza to tie the game at 68.

But the Hornets responded with a 13-2 run to close out the quarter. Smith scored the final five points of the stanza to give New Orleans an 81-70 lead heading to the fourth.

Los Angeles made a late run and got within six, 101-95, with 1:38 to play. The Clippers, though, missed four 3-pointers on one possession.

The Hornets went 4-of-4 from the foul line down the stretch to seal the victory.

"Embarrassing game for us," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "Give New Orleans credit. They outplayed us."

Game Notes

The Hornets played their fifth straight game without No. 1 overall pick Anthony Davis, who is out with a stress reaction in his left ankle ... New Orleans went 18-of-23 from the foul line.
