Recap: Milwaukee vs. New York

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the New York Knicks past the Milwaukee Bucks, 102-88, on Wednesday.

In his return home, Wisconsin native Steve Novak scored a season-high 19 points, knocking down 5-of-7 from three-point range to help the Knicks bounce back after an overtime loss in Brooklyn on Monday.

"We had fans on our side tonight," said Novak. "Its nice to come home and play in front of the family. The shots were falling for me and we played great as a team. We moved the ball and that was the difference for us tonight."

Playing without Jason Kidd, who sat for a second consecutive game with back spasms, New York also got solid contributions from Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni.

Chandler came through with 17 points and eight rebounds, Felton finished with 12 points, seven assists and four steals and Prigioni contributed 11 points and seven assists to the victory.

Brandon Jennings shot 6-of-8 from the field, scoring 18 points for the Bucks, who have dropped four of their last five games on the heels of a three-game winning streak.

"We didn't seem as prepared as we needed to be," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "We were a little bit loose with the ball."

Milwaukee had 18 turnovers for the night, which the Knicks converted into 21 points.

Beno Udrih poured in 18 points as well and Monta Ellis tallied 17 points and seven assists in the defeat.

Anthony, who shot 9-of-18 for the game, scored 11 points in the opening period, but Jennings and Ellis each netted 11 to make up for 22 of the 26 first quarter points for the Bucks, who carried a three-point lead entering the second period.

The game went back-and-forth for the first nine and a half minutes of the second until the Knicks used a 9-0 run to create some separation late in the quarter.

Anthony buried a long triple and then scored on a layup before Felton converted two Milwaukee turnovers into four points, helping the Knicks to a 58-48 halftime lead.

New York doubled its advantage less than three minutes into the second half and led by double-digits the rest of the way.

Novak sparked a 10-0 spurt with a 3-pointer on the opening possession of the third and then flashed a discount-double check after burying another trey with 2:20 left in the period, giving the Knicks their largest lead of the game at 22 points.

The Bucks were able to trim the Knicks' lead to 12 with 1:59 left in the game off a Udrih jumper, but never came any closer.
