Recap: San Antonio vs. Philadelphia

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Tony Parker scored a team-high 20 points and the San Antonio Spurs easily dispatched the Philadelphia 76ers, 109-86, at AT&T Center on Saturday.

Manu Ginobili tallied 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench. Tiago Splitter posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards for the Spurs, who bounced back after having their seven-game winning streak snapped to the Knicks on Thursday.

"Tonight we did a great job getting them off the 3-point line," said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, whose team held the Sixers to 3-for-17 from long distance on the night. "I thought the guys really focused well on that, it was a big part of our theme tonight."

Tim Duncan posted 16 points, eight boards and four blocks in the victory.

The 76ers put an end to a woeful 2-6 road trip with their third straight loss. Spencer Hawes led the team with 22 points, while Evan Turner scored 12. Thaddeus Young and Jason Richardson each followed with 11.

"This would have been a tall order if we had eight days rest," Sixers coach Doug Collins said. "This team (Spurs) is as good as any team in the NBA. They're deep and they execute. They run their offense harder, cut harder, and move the ball better than any team in the NBA. When you play them, you better play every possession till the end."

Jrue Holiday finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in the setback.

The Spurs led for almost the entire contest. A Ginobili 3-pointer just past the midway point in the first helped the Spurs open up a 20-9 advantage. He scored 10 in the period to help San Antonio to a 31-21 lead by the end of the first.

Young's running jumper helped the Sixers close the gap to six early in the second period, but they never came closer the rest of the way.

After Splitter threw down a dunk to put San Antonio ahead 42-32 at the seven- minute mark, the Spurs held a double-digit edge the rest of the quarter and carried a 54-42 advantage going into halftime.

The Sixers fell behind by 19 points in the third after a driving score by Parker put the Spurs ahead 74-55 and the quarter ended with the hosts holding an 81-63 edge.

Gary Neal's 3-pointer with 5:42 left in the fourth created San Antonio's largest cushion of the game at 96-71.
