Recap: Golden State vs. Memphis

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Zach Randolph finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds and Rudy Gay chipped in 18 points, as the Memphis Grizzlies edged the Golden State Warriors, 94-87, at Oracle Arena.

Mike Conley chipped in 16 points for the Grizzlies, who wrapped up a perfect three-game road trip with their eighth straight win over the Warriors.

"Our focus was to come in and get three wins. We did that. What a great way to come close it out in the last game," Grizzlies guard Tony Allen said. "We played hard for 48 minutes again. We weathered that storm."

Memphis shot just 2-of-17 from behind the arc, but scored 26 more points in the paint (60-34).

Stephen Curry paced Golden State with 24 points, while Klay Thompson logged 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the setback.

The Warriors fell to the Clippers last Saturday and dropped back-to-back games for the second time this season.

"We played two teams who we are trying to chase. Two teams who are right there in front of us in the standings who we understand have been playing great basketball just like we have," Curry said. "There is no need to panic especially with the month we have coming with the teams coming and the teams on the road. We just have to keep grinding and play 48 minutes."

The Grizzlies never trailed in the second half, but it came down to the wire after Golden State rallied from a 14-point deficit. Memphis' Marc Gasol spun in a reverse layup to break an 82-82 tie, and Conley made two free throws a little later for a four-point lead with 2:11 remaining.

At the other end, Jarrett Jack drove the lane and was blocked by Jerryd Bayless, leading to a fastbreak that ended in a give-and-go between Conley and Gay. David Lee's jumper stopped the 6-0 run before Gay drained a baseline jumper for a 90-84 cushion with 1:16 to play.

Curry made a late 3-pointer to pull within three, but Randolph sealed the outcome at the free throw line with 13.2 seconds to go.

The Grizzlies led 27-26 after the first quarter, then built a 14-point lead in the second on the strength of a 10-point run that Darrell Arthur highlighted with two assists and a layup midway through the frame.

Curry kept the Warriors in striking distance with a reverse layup and a 3- pointer in the final minute, pulling the hosts within 55-46 at the break.

Memphis continued to lead in an offense-starved third quarter that saw both teams combine for only 30 points. Golden State trailed 68-63 entering the fourth, but pulled even at 74-74 on Curry's jumper 4 1/2 minutes in.
