Recap: Toronto vs. Miami

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - LeBron James had 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 100-85 win over the Toronto Raptors.

James was 10-for-16 from the field for Miami, which was coming off a 102-89 loss to Indiana on Friday. Chris Bosh added 28 points, while Dwyane Wade had 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

"Everyone did a good job protecting the rim, protecting the paint," said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra.

Rudy Gay, who was acquired from a trade with the Grizzlies on Thursday, scored a season-high 29 points for the Raptors, who have lost four of their past five games. DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points, including a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line in the loss.

"Everyone was not on the same page, but this is no one's fault," said Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. "This is the NBA."

A driving layup by James gave the Heat a 24-21 edge after the first quarter. However, Gay scored seven points early in the second quarter to give Toronto a 31-26 advantage with 9:25 left.

The Raptors led by as many as 8 (50-42), with 2:41 remaining and held the Heat scoreless until James sank two free throws with 58 seconds remaining to cut the deficit 50-44 at halftime.

Toronto continued to hold on to the lead in the third until Wade's free throw with eight minutes left tied the game at 54-54. Bosh then shot a 19-foot jumper and followed it with a running dunk to give Miami the lead with 6 1/2 minutes remaining. James' three-point play with five seconds to go gave the Heat a 71-67 advantage entering the fourth.

An early 9-2 run for the Heat capped off by a huge slam dunk by Bosh extended Miami's lead to 80-73 with 7:05 left to play but the Raptors were not deterred.

Terrence Ross and DeRozan's three-pointers brought Toronto within three at 84-81 with 5:22 remaining in regulation. However, a 16-5 run by Miami prevented the Raptors from getting any closer. James and Bosh had a combined 13 points during the swing, including a three-point play by Bosh with 1:07 left.

Bosh, the former Raptor, was efficient in the second half, scoring 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
