Recap: New York vs. New Orleans

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony and Chris Copeland scored 27 and 22 points, respectively, as the New York Knicks snapped a three-game skid with a 100-87 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Amare Stoudemire added 12 points for the Knicks, who went 11-of-30 from beyond the arc. Tyson Chandler tallied five points and 14 rebounds.

Eric Gordon ended with 22 points for the Hornets, who had a four-game winning streak snapped. Anthony Davis donated 13 points and eight boards.

"They got into a flow. Carmelo (Anthony) got into a big flow in the second quarter and when he is flowing, their whole team is flowing," Gordon said. "They had a big quarter and they kept having big strides after that. We didn't play as well."

Brian Roberts made five straight free throws in the final 16.2 seconds of the first quarter to give New Orleans a 29-22 lead.

However, Anthony guided the Knicks to a big second stanza. Trailing by six, 34-28, with 6:52 remaining, New York went on a 15-4 run. Anthony tallied 12 points during the surge to give the home team a 43-38 edge.

Anthony ended the period with a personal 6-0 spurt to give the Knicks a 49-41 margin. He had 18 of New York's 27 points in the second frame.

"We came back to the huddle, at the end of the quarter, looked up and knew 29 points was definitely too many points," Anthony said. "We held them to 12, 13 points and the game turned around from there."

The Knicks led by as many as 11 in the third quarter and took a 71-66 lead into the fourth.

New York started the final period on a 13-2 run to build a 16-point margin. Steve Novak made a pair of 3-pointers during the burst to make it an 84-68 contest.

New Orleans never got closer than 11 the rest of the way.
