Recap: Philadelphia vs. New Orleans

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Greivis Vasquez led five Hornets players in double figures with 23 points, as New Orleans came away with a 111-99 road victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Eric Gordon had 19 points, Ryan Anderson scored 14, Xavier Henry compiled 11 and rookie Anthony Davis added 10 for the Hornets, who have won five of their last six games.

Jrue Holiday finished a double-double, 29 points and 11 assists, to go along with five rebounds and four steals for Philadelphia, which was looking to win consecutive games for the first time since late November. The Sixers snapped a five-game losing streak Saturday against Houston.

The Sixers were down two early in the third quarter, only to see New Orleans build an 88-68 lead on a Henry dunk early in the fourth quarter.

Nick Young provided a spark off the bench for Philadelphia over the final frame, scoring 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting after being a spectator through the first three frames.

Buoyed by Young's play, the Sixers made a run to close the gap to single digits. Dorell Wright nailed a 3-pointer to draw Philadelphia within 97-89 with 5:25 remaining. But Vasquez followed an Anderson tip-in with a trey to put New Orleans up 105-91, all but sealing the win.

"I thought we played with a lot of energy," Vasquez said. "We started hitting shots, starting getting into our offense and started getting physical."

Philadelphia drained its first six 3-pointers, but still trailed 35-28 after the first quarter. That was in part due to New Orleans shooting 76.2 percent over the opening 12 minutes.

The Hornets extended their lead to 48-35 when Davis showed some range by hitting a 19-footer with 5:15 remaining in the second quarter.

The Sixers, though, responded with eight straight points as part of a 16-5 surge that stretched into the third quarter. A Jason Richardson jumper trimmed the deficit to 53-51.

"Terrible start defensively. Tried to work ourselves back into it," said Sixers coach Doug Collins.

Game Notes

New Orleans shot 53.0 percent from the floor. The Sixers have now lost 22 straight games when opponents shoot 50.0 percent or better, a streak that dates back to 2010-11 ... Evan Turner had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Philadelphia.
