Recap: Philadelphia vs. Charlotte

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Lavoy Allen pulled down a career-high 22 rebounds -- half on the offensive glass -- to go with 14 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers sent the Charlotte Bobcats to a seventh straight loss with an 87-76 decision at Wells Fargo Center.

The Sixers were outscored at the free throw line, 20-7, but had 24 more points in the paint and got a spark from Jeremy Pargo, who played 29-plus minutes and posted 12 points and six assists two days after signing a 10-day contract.

Jrue Holiday netted 20 points, Spencer Hawes added 17 and Evan Turner recorded 16 points and 10 boards in a balanced attack for Philadelphia, which improved to 5-2 on an eight-game homestand that concludes Monday against the Clippers.

Ramon Sessions had 20 points for the Bobcats, who shot just 31 percent from the floor in yet another setback.

"They owned us on the boards," said Bobcats guard Gerald Henderson said, referring to the 60-40 rebounding differential.

The Sixers held the Bobcats to just six field goals in the first quarter, then made six themselves in the second. Despite the struggles, Philadelphia still led, 38-37, at halftime.

The third quarter was a much different story, as the hosts connected on half of its 22 attempts from the field. Allen got things started with a dunk on the first possession, and Holiday scored on three straight touches to cap a 12-2 run to open the frame.

The margin reached 16 when Pargo's three-point play made it 63-47 with 2:34 left, though Charlotte scored seven straight to pull within nine heading to the fourth.

The closest it got from there was five with under 3 1/2 minutes to go, but jumpers by Hawes and Holiday extended the lead, and the Sixers held on from there.

"We executed (down the stretch)," Turner said.

Game Notes

Philadelphia improved to 20-0 when leading at the start of the fourth quarter ... Byron Mullens chipped in 16 points for the Bobcats, losers of five straight against the Sixers.
