Recap: Sacramento vs. Utah

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Isaiah Thomas netted 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting and the Sacramento Kings grinded out a 120-109 victory over the Utah Jazz on Saturday at Sleep Train Arena.

Marcus Thornton followed with 24 points, Jason Thompson contributed 21 and DeMarcus Cousins added 13 points with 11 rebounds to help Sacramento avenge Monday's loss at Utah and end a four-game skid.

"We were energized and looked like a totally different team," said Thomas. "Especially on the offensive end, we were sharing the ball, we were smiling, everything. It was good for us."

Alec Burks put forth a career-best 24 points, but the Jazz suffered their second straight defeat and third consecutive on the road. Al Jefferson was the only starter for Utah in double-figures, scoring 16 points.

"We just couldn't get over the hump," said Utah coach Tyrone Corbin. "They made some baskets, but these guys will continue to work hard. We'll get better, we just have to learn to be smarter and tougher in key situations."

After rallying from a 13-point deficit, the Jazz took their last lead at 50-49 late in the second quarter, but the Kings finished the period strong and rolled from there.

Utah briefly held the advantage following a 17-3 push, but Thompson answered with a running jumper at the other end to put the Kings back on top. They would finish the quarter on a 6-0 run to grab a 62-54 edge before blowing the game open in the third.

John Salmons' triple gave Sacramento a 14-point cushion and following five ensuing free throws, the Kings completed a 10-0 run to take a 77-58 lead just past the midway point of the third.

Utah shot 57.9 percent in the first half, but converted just 38.1 percent of its attempts in the third and trailed 87-74 going into the fourth.

Thomas scored 10 of his points for Sacramento in the fourth, with his three- point play midway through the stanza putting the Kings ahead by 20.

Enes Kanter, who scored all 15 of his points in the second half, followed his three-point play with a layup to reduce Utah's deficit to nine, but it was too little too late as the Jazz never came any closer.
