Recap: Chicago vs. San Antonio

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Even without their big three, the San Antonio Spurs remain on a roll.

Kawhi Leonard had 26 points in the Spurs' 103-89 win over the Chicago Bulls.

Danny Green tallied 18 points and six rebounds, while Tiago Splitter and Gary Neal added 16 points apiece for the Spurs, who have won 13 of their last 14 games.

Tim Duncan has missed nine of his last 11 contests due to a sore left knee, Manu Ginobili has missed five straight with tightness in his left hamstring and Tony Parker missed the action due to swelling around his knee.

The last time San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich sat Duncan, Ginobili and Parker in the same game -- a nationally televised showdown with the Miami Heat -- the NBA slapped the Spurs with a $250,000 fine. But all three were healthy scratches then.

"One would hope you could play with anybody in the system. But it was a great challenge," Popovich said.

Nate Robinson had 20 points and seven assists for Chicago, which has dropped four of its last six tilts.

Leonard's 3-pointer gave San Antonio a 68-54 cushion midway through the third, but the Bulls outscored the Spurs 21-8 over the next eight-plus minutes to pull within one point.

Robinson had nine points during the surge, which was capped on a Taj Gibson dunk to make it 76-75 with 9:51 left.

The Spurs, though, countered with a run of their own.

Splitter poured in six points during a 13-3 swing and Leonard concluded it with a layup to put San Antonio up, 89-78, midway through the fourth.

The visitors led by as many as 14 down the stretch.

The Bulls led 24-20 after one quarter of play, but the Spurs had a 31-18 advantage in the second quarter and took a 51-42 spread into the break.

"I don't think we took them for granted. I just think they came out and played harder than us." Gibson said of losing to the short-handed Spurs.

Game Notes

San Antonio moved to 32-1 this season when leading at halftime ... Richard Hamilton had 16 points, while Joakim Noah pulled down 15 rebounds for Chicago ... The Bulls turned the ball over 19 times, which led to 29 San Antonio points.
