Recap: Memphis vs. Sacramento

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Marc Gasol tallied 24 points and 12 rebounds as Memphis captured its third win in a row by defeating the Sacramento Kings, 108-101, on Tuesday at FedExForum.

Tony Allen contributed a season-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting, Mike Conley added 22 points with seven assists and Zach Randolph finished with 13 points and nine boards in the triumph.

"The last few games he's been scoring a few points and he's made shots," Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins said of Allen. "He's gotten to the basket, he's made good decisions."

DeMarcus Cousins had 23 points, seven rebounds and five steals, but the Kings had their brief two-game winning streak snapped. Tyreke Evans added 20 points in Sacramento's fifth consecutive road setback.

"I thought (our) guys did everything they could to put themselves in position to win," Kings head coach Keith Smart said.

The Kings put up a fight in the early going, but after grabbing the lead midway through the second, the Grizzlies never looked back.

After knocking down a pair of free throws, Conley buried a 3-pointer to put Memphis ahead, 42-41, and Tayshaun Prince followed a Gasol three-point play late in the quarter with a triple to expand the Grizzlies' lead to nine.

The Kings, however, were able to cut their deficit to 58-55 by halftime and came within one on Evans' layup with 5:48 to go in the third, but the Grizzlies would open the game up from there.

They went on a 9-2 run, with Randolph's short running jumper giving Memphis a an eight-point edge.

After Jerryd Bayless sank a 3-pointer just before the end of the third to push the Grizzlies' advantage to double-digits, Conley's driving score early in the fourth gave Memphis its greatest lead at 90-77.

The Kings only came as close as six points the rest of the way.
