Recap: LA Clippers vs. Memphis

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Marc Gasol had 21 points and five steals as the Memphis Grizzlies took down the Los Angeles Clippers, 96-85.

Tayshaun Prince added 18 points and six rebounds for the Grizzlies, who improved to 19-11 on the road this season. The 19 road wins in one season matches a team record set in the 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06 campaigns.

Mike Conley ended with 17 points and 11 assists for Memphis, which has won six in a row and 14 of its last 15 games. Zach Randolph and Quincy Pondexter donated 13 and 11 points, respectively.

"We just wanted to win the game. We both know each other well," Gasol said. "Tonight we were able to execute and move the ball."

Chris Paul had 24 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who got 22 points, six rebounds and five assists from Blake Griffin. Matt Barnes and Chauncey Billups tallied 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Holding a 31-30 lead with 9:31 left in the second quarter, the Grizzlies went on a 6-0 spurt. Pondexter scored five points during the flurry to make it a 37-30 contest.

The Clippers responded with a 6-0 burst of their own just minutes later to get within one, 39-38. Los Angeles did manage to take the lead, but Memphis scored the final five points of the half for a 54-52 margin.

The Grizzlies used a 9-0 run in the early stages of the third quarter to grab a 63-54 lead. They led throughout the period and took a 75-69 edge into the fourth.

"We never got into a rhythm," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "In the third quarter we turned the ball over. Give Memphis credit."

Billups scored seven straight points for the Clippers in the early stages of the fourth. His 3-pointer and jumper cut the gap to 81-78 with 7:19 to play.

Pondexter responded with a 3-pointer for Memphis, which put the game away from there.

Los Angeles is 2-1 against Memphis this season ... Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe (calf) missed the game ... The Grizzlies shot 54.4 percent from the field ... The Clippers turned the ball over 14 times, leading to 15 Memphis points.
