Recap: Charlotte vs. Minnesota

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - A streak had to end.

And for the Charlotte Bobcats, their pursuit toward an NBA record for ineptitude at home came to a halt.

Gerald Henderson's go-ahead 3-pointer with 4.6 seconds left lifted the Bobcats to a 102-101 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves, ending Charlotte's 16- game home losing streak.

The Bobcats were three more consecutive home losses from setting an NBA record set by the Dallas Mavericks during the 1993-94 season.

Kemba Walker tallied 25 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, while Henderson added 15 points for Charlotte, which registered its first victory at Time Warner Cable Arena since Nov. 21.

"I got the pass from Kemba and it was just a crazy shot," Henderson said. "It was a big weight off of our back. We were happy to get a win at home."

J.J. Barea's jumper at the buzzer was blocked by Walker.

Luke Ridnour had 22 points to lead the Timberwolves, who have dropped nine of 10 overall and seven straight on the road.

A Barea triple with 1:23 left knotted the contest at 97-97 and Ridnour's steal and missed layup a bit later led to an easy putback layup for Andrei Kirilenko for a 99-97 Minnesota edge with 56.8 to play.

Bismack Biyombo got his layup to drop while being fouled on Charlotte's ensuing trip down the floor, but he missed the free throw to keep the game tied. Ricky Rubio's reverse layup put the Wolves back in front by a 101-99 count with 29.2 remaining.

The Bobcats struggled to get a shot off on their next trip down the floor. A wild scramble ensued as Walker went to retrieve the ball that was knocked into the backcourt late in the shot clock.

He dished to Henderson along the left wing, who pump faked to dispatch of a leaping Kirilenko and knocked down the triple.

"Just one of those fluke things," Wolves interim coach Terry Porter said of the entire sequence.

Minnesota led 34-22 after a quarter of play and 58-47 heading into the break. Charlotte outscored the visitors 26-19 in the third and trailed 77-73 heading into the fourth.

An 18-4 run that bridged the third and final frame gave Charlotte a 91-83 edge before the Wolves netted 10 of the next 12 to square the tilt at 93-all.

Game Notes

The Bobcats are 6-18 at home, while Minnesota is 6-17 away from home ... Kirilenko left in the first half to get stitches above his right eye ... Minnesota turned the ball over 17 times, which led to 22 Charlotte points.
