Recap: New York vs. Atlanta

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony's go-ahead three-point play with 12.5 seconds left capped a 42-point night and lifted the New York Knicks to a 106-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Josh Smith's 3-pointer at the buzzer from the left wing was off the mark.

"It was a good look. It just didn't go down," Smith said of the shot.

Anthony nailed a franchise record-tying nine triples for New York, which shot 59 percent (16-of-27) from beyond the arc. Anthony's nine treys matched a mark held by John Starks, Latrell Sprewell -- who did it twice -- and Toney Douglas.

"He's playing unbelievably high right now," Knicks center Tyson Chandler said of Anthony. "It seemed every time he put it up it was going in. He kind of put the team on his back."

Amare Stoudemire and J.R. Smith poured in 18 points apiece, while Raymond Felton tallied 12 points and 10 assists in the triumph.

Jeff Teague netted 27 points, while Smith added 20 for the Hawks, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Anthony was poked in the eye by DeShawn Stevenson with 1:51 to go and ferociously slammed the ball on the court, which resulted into a technical foul.

After Kyle Korver sunk the ensuing free throw for a 102-101 Atlanta lead, Anthony missed a jumper. Stoudemire grabbed the offensive rebound, though, and was fouled before making two free throws. Al Horford, though, put down an alley-oop moments later to give the Hawks a 104-103 edge with 1:34 left.

On the final bucket, Anthony drove past Smith along the left wing and converted the layup while being fouled.

It ended a 15-of-28 night from the field for the All-Star forward.

In a game that had 22 lead changes and 14 ties, New York took a 27-25 margin after a quarter of play before the Hawks outscored the Knicks by the same score in the second to knot the contest at 52-all heading into the break.

New York led 82-74 going into the fourth.
