Recap: Washington vs. Sacramento

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Isaiah Thomas scored 22 points and floated home the game-winning score to send the Sacramento Kings to a 96-94 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday at Verizon Center.

After John Wall banked a shot off the glass for Washington to tie the game with 7.9 seconds remaining, Thomas got in the paint and floated a tear drop through the hoop with just a second left to put the Kings on top.

"I thought he did the right thing driving to the basket," said Kings coach Keith Smart. "That little floater gave us a big win."

With no timeouts remaining, Washington had to inbound from the full length of the court. Marcus Thornton then stole the inbounds pass to the clinch the victory for the Kings, who ended a four-game skid with the win.

Francisco Garcia scored 17 -- hitting 4-of-6 from 3-point range -- and Marcus Thornton poured in 11 to lead a Kings bench that outscored the Wizards' 47-24.

Wall finished with 19 points and 11 assists, while Emeka Okafor tallied a season-best 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Wizards, who saw their five- game home winning streak come to an end.

"We know we're in a situation where we can win these games," said Wall. "We have the talent to do it, we just didn't execute and had a couple of misdirections and turnovers down the stretch."

Thomas hit a floater in the lane a minute prior to his winning score as well, staking the Kings to a 91-90 advantage with 1:10 to play. Washington had two possessions to go back on top, but came up empty on both.

After Thomas's score, Wall got to the basket but couldn't finish on his layup attempt. Trevor Ariza then made a key block at the other end to prevent the Kings from increasing their lead, but Nene turned the ball over on Washington's ensuing possession, forcing the Wizards to foul with under 24 seconds remaining.

Evans sank a pair of free throws to put the Kings ahead, 93-90, but after quick score from Wall, the Wizards sent Evans back to line and this time only hit 1-of-2.

Trailing 94-92, Wall took an inbounds pass off a timeout, threw a pump fake to get Evans in the air and drove past him to bank a short jumper off the glass to tie the game at 94-94.

Thomas sent the Kings to victory on the ensuing possession.
