Recap: Indiana vs. Detroit

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Roy Hibbert recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds on Wednesday, as the Indiana Pacers pounded the short-handed Detroit Pistons, 98-79, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Tyler Hansbrough and Lance Stephenson also posted double-doubles, with Hansbrough tallying 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Stephenson adding 12 points and 11 boards for the Pacers, who have won 12 straight at home.

George Hill added 15 points, David West donated 14 points and Paul George gave 10 points in the triumph, which snapped Indiana's three-game skid.

"I'm proud of our guys coming off a trip and taking care of business," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "We had an edge which is important when you have a losing streak."

Greg Monroe paced the Pistons with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Rodney Stuckey scored 14 points in the setback, Detroit's fourth in its last five games.

"They did a good job of getting a lead early," Monroe said of the Pacers. "We were able to fight back and make a few runs at them. I was proud of our effort in doing that."

The Pistons were without starting small forward Tayshaun Prince and reserve forward Austin Daye after both were sent to Memphis as part of a three-team trade involving the Grizzlies and Toronto, with Detroit acquiring Raptors starting point guard Jose Calderon.

"I think everyone was surprised that it took place right before the game," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said of the trade. "(Detroit president of basketball operations) Joe Dumars called me and I knew how much it hurt him. Tayshaun has been a part of the Pistons' family for 10 years. I wish both Tayshaun and Austin the best of luck."

Indiana scored the first six points of the contest and led 29-23 after 12 minutes, but the Pistons were able to pull within 36-34 just past the midpoint of the second on a pullup jumper from Will Bynum.

The Pacers quickly distanced themselves from there, as they closed the quarter on an 18-2 surge to take a double-digit lead into the break.

Stephenson supplied eight points in the run, while Hibbert added six, including the capper with 25.5 ticks remaining to send Indiana into the locker room holding a 54-36 advantage.

The Pistons failed to get any closer than nine in the third stanza and the Pacers carried a 70-56 lead into the final frame.

Indiana held Detroit at bay in fourth, never allowing the visitors to trim the margin below double-digits en route to the wire-to-wire victory.
