Recap: Milwaukee vs. Atlanta

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Dahntay Jones sank a go-ahead free throw with 22.4 seconds remaining to lift the Atlanta Hawks to a 104-99 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Jones, who finished 1-for-5 from the charity stripe, hit the first free throw before missing the second, but Anthony Tolliver grabbed the offensive board to keep possession with the Hawks.

Al Horford then sank two more from the line, and after Monta Ellis came up empty on a potential game-tying 3-pointer, Jeff Teague knocked down a pair from the stripe to seal the outcome.

"It shows a lot of toughness for our team," Horford said of his team battling back. "When all the momentum seemed like it was on their side, we responded well and made plays when we needed to."

Horford finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Josh Smith added 23 points and nine boards for the Hawks, who defeated the Bucks 98-90 on Wednesday in Atlanta.

Ellis led Milwaukee with 20 points and Ersan Ilyasova registered a double- double with 19 points and 10 boards for the Bucks, who have lost three straight and six of their last eight.

Atlanta led by six just past the midpoint of the fourth before J.J. Redick drilled a 3-pointer to spark a 16-5 run that Ellis capped with three straight triples, including a 26-footer with 2:45 left that gave the Bucks a 97-92 lead.

Smith quelled the spurt with a layup and then split a pair of free throws to bring the Hawks within two, which is where the margin stood after Larry Sanders hit 1-of-2 at the line with 44.1 ticks left.

Smith again answered with a layup to knot the game, and after Ellis turned the ball over on Milwaukee's next touch, Jones hit the first of two free throws to give his team the lead for good.

"We were right there, but just had some bad turnovers at the end," Ilyasova admitted. "We are a good team and I know we can still make a run."

The first three frames featured 18 lead changes and 12 ties, with neither team building a cushion higher than seven over the first 36 minutes.
