Recap: Portland vs. Denver

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Wesley Matthews scored 19 points to pace Portland past Denver, 97-80.

Matthews was one of four Trail Blazers in double figures, joined by LaMarcus Aldridge with 14 points, Victor Claver with 13 points and Coby Karl with 11.

Portland fired 31 shots from long distance, making 13 of them for a big advantage over the Nuggets, who managed to make just 2-of-20 three-point attempts.

Kenneth Faried posted a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Nuggets, who lost for the first time in preseason play. Andre Miller chipped in with nine points, five rebounds and four assists in defeat.
