Recap: Cleveland vs. Washington

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Rookie Bradley Beal led a trio of Washington players with 14 points, as the Wizards downed the Cleveland Cavaliers, 99-95, in preseason action on Saturday at Quicken Loans Arena.

Beal, who the Wizards selected with the third pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, added four rebounds and three assists, while Jordan Crawford and Brian Cook each matched Beal's scoring output to help the Wizards earn their first preseason victory.

Tristan Thompson poured in a game-high 18 points and grabbed 10 boards and Alonzo Gee chipped in 13 points for the Cavs, who finished 21-45 last season.

Cleveland held a 72-71 advantage after three quarters, but the Wizards got back-to-back 3-pointers from Trevor Ariza and Shelvin Mack to jump in front.

Tyler Zeller's tip-in with just over a minute left gave the Cavs a 93-92 lead, but Cook answered with a triple and Beal buried a pair of free-throws with 5.5 ticks remaining to seal the victory.
