Recap: Atlanta vs. New Orleans

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Josh Smith scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Atlanta Hawks take a 97-68 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets in preseason action on Thursday.

Anthony Morrow followed with 15 points, Devin Harris added 14 and Al Horford recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards for the Hawks, who improved to 2-3 in the preseason.

Anthony Davis, the first overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft, poured in a game-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds to lead New Orleans, while fellow rookie Austin Rivers donated 11 points for the Hornets.

The teams went into the break locked at 40-40, but the Hawks outscored the Hornets 26-7 in the third quarter before cruising to a double-digit victory in the fourth.
