Recap: Dallas vs. Houston

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - O.J. Mayo poured in 20 points and Shawn Marion added 15 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 123-104 win over the Houston Rockets at the American Airlines Center.

Rookie Jae Crowder added 20 points and Vince Carter chipped in with 15 points off the bench for the Mavericks, who were swept by the Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs last season.

Kevin Martin scored a game-high 23 points and Patrick Patterson donated 13 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets, who missed the playoffs for the third straight season in 2011-12.

Jeremy Lin, who was signed by Houston in the offseason after the New York Knicks elected against matching the Rockets' restricted free-agent offer sheet, did not see the court after playing in the first three preseason games for Houston.
