Recap: San Antonio vs. LA Clippers

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Tiago Splitter scored 22 points and the Spurs rode a dominant first quarter on the way to a 116-92 rout of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Tim Duncan tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who have won four of their last five games. They bounced back from a 105-101 loss at home against the Knicks on Thursday.

Tony Parker contributed 17 points and nine assists, and Manu Ginobili finished with 15 points off the bench.

Jamal Crawford had 24 points and seven assists for the Clippers, who began a long stretch without superstar point guard Chris Paul. He is expected to miss approximately 3-5 weeks with a separated right shoulder he suffered in the Clippers' 119-112 victory at Dallas Friday.

Blake Griffin scored 19 to go with seven rebounds for Los Angeles. Darren Collison scored 14, but the Clippers lost for the 28th time in the last 31 road games at San Antonio.

The Spurs made 77.3 percent (17-of-22) of their shots over the first 12 minutes and led 37-17 after the first quarter. Splitter and Parker each scored 10 points and they combined to go 9-of-9 from the field.

Included in the quarter was an 11-2 spurt. Parker capped the burst with a layup for a 29-15 difference with 2:39 left. A tip-in by Jeff Ayres in the closing seconds provided the 20-point margin.

The Clippers had one rebound in the first quarter, a Spurs franchise-record low for an opponent in a period.

Ginobili scored eight points during the second quarter, another period in which the hosts dominated. The Spurs extended their lead to 70-35 at the half.

"Our first half was great. We stopped a little bit (in the second half), but the first half was fun to watch. It was a very good first half," said Ginobili.

The advantage reached 37 early in the third until the Clippers rattled off 12 straight points. The visitors were only able to get the lead under 20 at the quarter's end when Crawford beat the buzzer with a long 3-pointer for an 88-70 difference.

Crawford went 1-of-2 from the foul line early in the fourth to make it a 92-79 game, but Duncan converted a 3-point play to start a game-sealing 10-0 spurt.

"When we started moving the ball in the second half we looked like a basketball team. In the first half, we looked like an AAU team. The ball stuck, I bet half the time it was one pass, shot, one pass, shot," said Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
