Recap: Sacramento vs. Detroit

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Josh Smith poured in 21 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 97-90 win over the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena.

Andre Drummond added 15 points and pulled down 18 boards and Brandon Jennings added 11 points, six rebounds and nine assists for the Pistons, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

"This is the way Josh (Smith) plays. He scores, he rebounds -- I think he had four blocks. He does a little bit of everything and this is the way we need Josh to play. He was spectacular tonight," said Pistons head coach Maurice Cheeks.

Rodney Stuckey and Kyle Singler finished with 16 and 11 points, respectively, in the win.

DeMarcus Cousins scored 26 points to go with 13 rebounds and Isaiah Thomas added 18 points and seven assists for the Kings, losers in six of their last seven games.

"I think we had the effort, we played hard but we just didn't execute," said Thomas. "We didn't take care of the ball, they got a lot of fast break points."

The Pistons took a 15-6 lead following Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's jumper just under five minutes in. A Salmons trey at the midway point made it 15-11, but Detroit outscored the Kings 12-10 the rest of the way to take a 27-21 lead after the first quarter.

Thomas scored nine of his 18 points in the second frame, including a pair of treys, which helped the Kings cut the deficit to 54-51 at the break.

Greivis Vasquez knocked down back-to-back treys with just over five minutes to go in the third to give the Kings a 66-64 lead, but the Pistons closed the frame on a 16-4 run to go into the final stanza with an 80-70 lead.

Sacramento didn't get closer than seven the rest of the way.
