Recap: Miami vs. Atlanta

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat didn't have Dwyane Wade. Good thing they rarely have trouble with the Atlanta Hawks these days.

Chris Bosh scored 19 points and Mario Chalmers keyed a big third-quarter run Tuesday night as the Heat topped the Hawks for the eighth straight time with a 104-88 win.

Wade, who has battled knee injuries, was held out for precautionary reasons and the Heat spread the scoring out to extend their overall winning streak to four games.

Ray Allen scored 17 points off the bench, Chalmers added 14 and LeBron James had 13.

Mike Scott had 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the Hawks, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Al Horford and Pero Antic added 12 points apiece in Atlanta's 14th loss in its last 16 games against Miami.

"I give Miami and their defense a lot of credit. Their activity can make it difficult on you offensively," Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer said.

Chalmers scored nine straight points during a 23-6 run in the third quarter that turned a two-point deficit into a 15-point lead in under 5 1/2 minutes.

James Jones hit a pair of 3-pointers in the run but Chalmers made the biggest splash. After completing a three-point play, he hit consecutive 3s to help the Heat build their 15-point lead.

It was 78-68 going into the fourth quarter and the Hawks never got closer than nine after that.

"It's very encouraging our reserves were able to give us a spark," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said.

The Heat are at Orlando on Wednesday night for the first game of a home-and- home. The teams will play in Miami on Saturday night.

The Hawks start a home-and-home against the Pistons on Wednesday in Atlanta. The teams will play in Detroit on Friday

Scott hit a jumper before the first-quarter buzzer to give the Hawks a 25-24 lead.

James had all 10 of his first-half points in the second quarter, including six during a 13-2 burst that gave the Heat a five-point lead. Bosh scored five of his 16 first-half points in the run, capping it with a 3-pointer to make it 43-38. Miami led 46-43 at halftime.
