Recap: Washington vs. LA Clippers

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul poured in 38 points on an efficient 11-of-14 shooting with 12 assists and the Los Angeles Clippers wrapped up their seven-game road trip with a 113-97 thrashing of the Washington Wizards.

Jamal Crawford scored 17 points while Blake Griffin and Jared Dudley each contributed 16 points for the Clippers, who finished the road trip 4-3.

DeAndre Jordan added 15 points and 10 rebounds as every Los Angeles starter scored in double figures.

John Wall led the Wizards with 24 points and 12 assists, while Kevin Seraphin chipped in 16 points off the bench.

Martell Webster and Trevor Booker each netted 12 points in Washington's fourth straight defeat.

"It was a good win," said Los Angeles head coach Doc Rivers. "CP (Paul) the shooting he did today was amazing, he missed three shots and scored 38 points on three misses. That's impressive."

Crawford and Dudley both hit 3-pointers to extend the Clippers lead to 25-15 just past the midway point of the first quarter.

Wall followed with five straight points to cut the deficit to five and the Wizards trailed 34-28 after one.

After a pair of free throws from Darren Collison with 7:25 left in the second, the lead grew to 11 and later swelled to as many as 16 after Paul hooked up with Jordan for a dunk.

Wall hit a three-point play to close out the scoring in the half and the Wizards trailed 59-46 at the break.

Lob city was in full effect as Jordan and Griffin helped the Clippers take total control of the contest in the third.

Griffin followed his own miss with a dunk and Jordan followed that with back- to-back alley oops, one from Paul and the other from Griffin, to push the lead to 75-56.

The dunk show was a part of a 10-2 run that Crawford and Paul capped with a pair of free throws as the lead swelled to 21.

Paul hit a three later in the quarter for Los Angeles' largest lead of the game at 22, but the Wizards closed the final 2:39 of the third quarter on an 11-2 run and trailed 89-77 heading to the fourth.

"We tried a lot of different things on Chris (Paul) tonight and he was pretty good," said Washington head coach Randy Wittman. "Every time we made that push, Chris kind of took things into his hands and controlled the game."

The two teams traded baskets to open the final frame but Paul's floater with 7:08 left increased the lead to 99-83 and the Clippers cruised the rest of the way.
