Recap: Oklahoma City vs. San Antonio

Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Durant scored 24 points, 13 of which came during a dominant second half for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who put an end to the San Antonio Spurs' 11-game win streak with a 94-88 victory at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Serge Ibaka netted 13 of his 17 points after the break to help the Thunder remain unbeaten on their home court this season and post their fifth win in a row overall. Reggie Jackson turned in a big effort as well, matching a career high with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting off the bench.

"Our defense was outstanding," Oklahoma City head coach Scott Brooks said. "They're a hard team to guard but we made them miss shots and that was the key to the game."

The Thunder outscored the Spurs by a 51-42 margin over the final two quarters en route to handing San Antonio only its second defeat of the campaign.

Tony Parker paced the Spurs with 16 points and seven assists, with Kawhi Leonard notching 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in a losing cause.

"We didn't shoot the ball very well that's for sure," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. "I thought a pretty good percentage of our 3-pointers were hurried or frazzled. I didn't like our shot selection."

San Antonio was clinging to a 52-51 edge four minutes into the second half when the Thunder began to assume control, swinging the momentum in their favor via an 8-0 run that Durant capped with an uncontested dunk off a Russell Westbrook steal.

The Thunder remained in front over the duration, though the difference was a mere four points after Manu Ginobili drained a trey with 2:51 left in the third quarter that pulled the Spurs within 63-59.

Jackson dropped in eight points during a 10-4 spurt early in the fourth quarter that extended Oklahoma City's advantage to 78-67 with under nine minutes remaining. However, San Antonio answered with a 9-1 flurry and cut its deficit to 79-76 midway through the period on a Marco Belinelli jumper that followed a 3-pointer from Patty Mills.

The Spurs got no closer, though. The Thunder countered with a 7-1 tear, capped by a conventional 3-point play by Durant, to go up 86-77 with under three minutes to go. Oklahoma City sealed the win by going 6-for-6 from the line in the final 1:20.

San Antonio put forth the first significant run of the game, a 9-2 sequence that staked the Spurs to a 21-14 lead late in an opening quarter in which neither team could sustain much momentum on offense. Oklahoma City responded with a 14-2 push, however, and went up 28-23 less than three minutes into the second when Jackson buried a jumper moments after knocking down a 3-pointer.

San Antonio controlled the action over the remainder of the stanza, though, taking a 46-41 advantage after Parker came up with a steal and layup with 35.2 seconds left in the half. The Spurs led by three at the break following a pair of successful free throws by Thunder center Kendrick Perkins in the closing stages.

In another move that bucks tradition, the Sharks completely revamped their on- ice leadership structure not by selecting new players to wear the precious singular letters on their uniforms, but by stripping the captaincy from Joe Thornton, removing the alternate tag from Patrick Marleau and leaving the other "A" vacant after Dan Boyle signed as a free agent with the Rangers.
