Recap: Atlanta vs. Chicago

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - D.J. Augustin scored 23 points and the Chicago Bulls defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 105-92, on Wednesday night.

Jimmy Butler and Kirk Hinrich netted 17 points apiece, while Joakim Noah added 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Bulls, who have won five of their last six games.

"I thought the ball movement overall for the team was very good," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Paul Millsap had 22 points and 11 boards for Atlanta, which has dropped seven of its last eight games and is in a virtual tie with the New York Knicks for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

"We still feel like we have a chance. Still got a lot more games left, try to tough it out and see what happens," Millsap said.

After Mike Muscala's jumper pulled Atlanta within 73-70 late in the third quarter, Chicago used a 14-3 run that bridged into the final frame to pull away for good.

Augustin had a three-point play to begin the burst and added a 3-pointer early in the fourth before Noah capped it with back-to-back buckets for an 87-73 margin with 8:26 left.

The Hawks never got within less than six the rest of the way.

Earlier, the game was tied 31-31 after the first quarter and Mike Dunleavy nailed a triple to finish off a 10-0 Bulls flurry during the middle stages of the second to stake them to a 48-42 advantage.

Augustin's trey right before the half gave the Bulls a 57-49 spread heading into the break.
