Recap: Phoenix vs. Indiana

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Gerald Green scored 23 points against his former team as the Phoenix Suns routed the Indiana Pacers, 124-100, on Wednesday night.

Green was a part of an offseason trade between the two teams that sent Luis Scola to the Midwest in exchange for Green, Miles Plumlee and a lottery protected first-round pick.

Goran Dragic scored 21 points, Markieff Morris contributed 20 off the bench, and P.J. Tucker added 13 for the Suns, who have won two straight and three of the last four games.

"It is the first time we have played against those guys in this season," Dragic said. "I would not say that they underestimated us, but we just played good basketball. In one week we are going back to there place, so they will probably be ready for us."

Paul George tallied 26 points with seven rebounds and George Hill added 16 points for Indiana, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.

Phoenix led by one, 30-29, after a quarter of play and they would use the next three quarters to gain the separation that resulted in the lobsided victory.

Green scored the final five points of a 14-2 burst to begin the second quarter that staked Phoenix to a 44-31 lead just 3:55 into the frame. Dragic pushed the lead to 60-45 with under a minute remaining in the half and the Suns led 62-49 at the break.

The third quarter started similarly to the second, with the Suns jumping out with a run. Five players scored for Phoenix during a 14-4 spurt that helped the hosts take total control.

Indiana trailed by 17 heading into the fourth and got as close as 13 with C.J. Watson and Scola hitting back-to-back shots to begin the stanza. Morris nailed two 3-pointers and capped a 13-0 run with a pair of free throws as the Suns led 109-83 midway through the fourth and cruised to the finish.

"We just ran into a hot Suns team, simple as that," George said. "They just caught fire and they shot the ball well tonight. We knew the game was going to be the way it was going to be and we knew they were going to come out with a lot of energy and play with a lot of energy, we just did a terrible job of responding to it."

Game Notes

The 124 points is the most allowed by Indiana this season. The Pacers original high was a 118-94 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 8 ... Plumlee scored 11 points against his former squad, while Channing Frye netted 10 points as every Suns starter produced double-digit scoring ... The Suns outscored the Pacers on the fastbreak 28-5 ... Phoenix shot 11-of-16 (68.8 percent) from beyond the arc.

Dorm Report: West Virginia goes wild, not so wonderful

There was quite a bit of hitting on the field at Milan Puskar Stadium last weekend, but almost as much action took place in the streets just outside in the hours following West Virginia's upset of visiting Baylor.
