Recap: San Antonio vs. Oklahoma City

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Reggie Jackson stole some of Kevin Durant's thunder on Wednesday night.

The NBA's scoring leader, however, found his shot just in time to top the 30- point mark for a ninth straight time.

Durant netted 36 points, Jackson scored 13 of his 27 in the fourth quarter and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 111-105, in a battle between the Western Conference's top two teams.

Jackson put in 11 consecutive Thunder points at one point in the fourth, with his driving layup staking Oklahoma City to a 94-89 lead with 7:15 left.

Durant had missed four of his first five shots in the final frame before converting an alley-oop layup for his 29th point to extend the Thunder margin to 100-94 with 3:11 to play.

A bit later, Durant knocked down a pair of triples in a 51-second span to finally eclipse the 30-point plateau and make it 108-98 in favor of Oklahoma City with 1:08 remaining. San Antonio never got within less than five down the stretch.

Durant was 12-of-22 from the field, 10-of-11 from the foul line, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out five assists, but did turn the ball over 11 times for the Thunder, who have won five straight games and moved one-half game ahead of San Antonio for the top spot in the West.

OKC has won all three meetings between the teams this season.

"We've experienced a lot together in the last five or six years. This was just another opportunity for us to experience playing against a good team in a back-to-back situation on their floor," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said.

Durant, who is averaging 38.9 points during his career-best nine-game streak of scoring at least 30, has three tilts of 40-or-more points. He put in a career-high 54 in a win over the Golden State Warriors on Friday.

Tony Parker had 37 points for San Antonio, which is 1-9 against the NBA's top six teams. The Spurs are 31-1 against the rest of the NBA. Tim Duncan added 14 points and 13 boards in defeat.

"I thought they stayed in the game all night long. I thought we started out poorly. We didn't start out very physical or much tenacity and not much edge," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said.

The Thunder made 11 of their first 15 shots and Kendrick Perkins' short jumper gave them a 23-13 advantage. Durant had 10 points in the opening frame as OKC took a 30-24 spread into the second.

A Boris Diaw straightaway 3-pointer gave the Spurs their first lead, 46-45, with 4:35 to go in the second, but the Thunder headed into the break with a 55-53 edge.

Durant scored 10 more points in the third as OKC took a 76-75 margin into the final quarter.
