Recap: Philadelphia vs. Toronto

Philadelphia, PA ( - DeMar DeRozan scored a game-high 34 points and Kyle Lowry recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 104-95 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.

"As long as it is with a win I'll take," Lowry, a Philadelphia native, said of his first career triple-double. "I'll take all the congratulations and thanks from the teammates, as long as it came with a win for the team is all that matters."

John Salmons added 12 points, Patrick Patterson scored 11 and Terrence Ross finished with 10 for the Raptors, who snapped a four-game road losing streak.

Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 points to lead five 76ers in double figures. Hollis Thompson had 15 points while Spencer Hawes scored 14 and pulled down 12 rebounds for Philadelphia, losers in four of their last five.

Thaddeus Young added 16 points and Evan Turner finished with 13 on 5-of-17 shooting in the setback.

The Raptors opened the game on a 13-2 run, but Carter-Williams stopped the bleeding with a 3-pointer just inside eight minutes. Moments later, Turner's free throw stemming from a defensive three-second call ignited a 17-3 burst that put the Sixers up 22-20.

Lowry canned a 3-pointer with 1:39 remaining in the opening stanza for a 23-22 Toronto edge, but the Sixers outscored the visitors 6-4 the rest of the way to take a 28-27 lead into the second.

Philadelphia led by as many as seven early in the second quarter, but the Raptors rallied to knot things up at 38-38 with 6:10 to go. Neither side could create much distance until the Sixers took a two-possession lead, 53-49, late in the frame, but Salmons buried a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left to make it 53-52 entering the break.

The Raptors led 80-78 after a back-and-forth third quarter and opened the final frame with a 16-5 burst to go up 96-83 with 4:47 remaining. Carter- Williams scored the next four points of the game to get the Sixers within nine, 96-87 and Philadelphia pulled within six, 99-93, with 39 seconds left, but the Raptors scored five of the game's final seven points to beat Philadelphia for the third straight time.

"I thought at the end of the third period and the start of the fourth we weren't able to hold the fort. They came in and guarded the heck out of us," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. "I always thought they were a good defensive team, when you have to play against them it sticks out even more."
