Recap: Orlando vs. Minnesota

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Arron Afflalo scored 18 points to lead the Orlando Magic to a 100-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Maurice Harkless and Tobias Harris each scored 17 points for the Magic, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

"We played together," said Harris. "When we focus on the defensive end, good things happen for us."

Victor Oladipo notched 16 points with six assists, Jameer Nelson dished out 12 assists and Kyle O'Quinn contributed a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double in the win.

Playing without Kevin Love due to back spasms, Minnesota was paced by Ricky Rubio, who netted 18 points with 10 assists. The Timberwolves squandered a chance to tie a season-high winning streak of three games, instead losing for the sixth consecutive time in Orlando.

Corey Brewer tallied 15 points, while Dante Cunningham, Gorgui Dieng and Robbie Hummel each added 12, with Dieng grabbing eight rebounds in the setback.

"We beat the champs last night then get beat by the Magic," said Brewer, referencing Minnesota's double-OT win over the Miami Heat on Friday. "It's a tough loss for us."

Minnesota led 26-25 after the first quarter and the Magic opened up the second on a 13-3 run to take a 38-29 lead. Five players contributed to the run and Harris capped it with a jumper at 6:37 of the frame.

Rubio responded with six points as part of a 12-0 burst that helped the visitors to a 41-38 lead with 2:25 left until halftime.

The Timberwolves built their lead to five, but Harkless' 3-pointer with 4.9 ticks remaining trimmed the Magic deficit to 48-46 at the break.

Minnesota ripped off a 12-5 spurt early in the third quarter to take a 62-53 advantage. Rubio later netted seven points during a 10-2 jaunt that pushed the lead to double digits.

A 13-5 quarter-closing run from Orlando trimmed the deficit to five, 77-72 entering the fourth.

The Magic used the momentum from the previous quarter and opened the fourth with an 8-2 sprint for an 80-79 lead. Both teams had an advantage over the next few minutes before Oladipo nailed a 3 to ignite a 10-1 run. He then closed it with a layup with just over two minutes left in the game and the Magic led 98-90.

Minnesota shot 1-for-5 from the floor with two turnovers in the closing minutes and got as close as six before Afflalo's floater accounted for the final margin.
