Recap: Miami vs. New York

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - J.R. Smith put on a record-setting performance from beyond the arc on Sunday, setting a Knicks record with 10 made 3-pointers in a 102-91 loss to the Miami Heat.

Smith also set a pair of NBA records, with 22 attempts from long distance in a single game and 24 made 3-pointers over a three-game span. He ended with 32 points.

LeBron James led Miami with 38 points and six assists. Mario Chalmers and Chris Bosh added 15 and 14 points, respectively for the Heat, who sit a full game ahead of the Pacers for first place in the Eastern Conference.

"You do your job and you live with the results," James said. "We lived with the result of J.R. making some of those bombs."

Miami was without the services of Dwyane Wade (hamstring), Greg Oden (back) and Chris Andersen (back/knee).

Raymond Felton had 15 points and five assists for New York, which sits two games behind the Hawks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Carmelo Anthony, who played with a sore shoulder, added 13 points and six assists.

"Throughout the course of the game, it just felt like a dead arm at times. Just a tough afternoon," Anthony said.

Holding a 66-64 lead, the Heat bridged the third and fourth quarter with an 11-0 run. Norris Cole's bank shot 1:01 into the fourth made it a 77-64 contest.

Miami's margin reached 15, 85-70, on Ray Allen's 3-pointer with 8:51 to play. But the Knicks hung around and used a 7-0 spurt to get within 92-85.

The Heat put the game away on Chalmers' 3-pointer with 2:35 remaining.

New York jumped out to a 16-3 lead and held a 25-17 margin with 2:02 left in the first quarter. But the Heat bridged the first and second frames with a 17-1 run to grab a 34-26 edge.
