Recap: Sacramento vs. Washington

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Thomas recorded his first career triple-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Sacramento Kings came back from double digits to beat the Washington Wizards, 117-111, in overtime on Tuesday.

DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay also scored 24 points apiece for Sacramento, with Cousins ripping down 14 boards to help the Kings snap a two-game skid.

"I never thought I would be able to get a triple-double," said Thomas. "I was just playing hard and got lost in the game just trying to make plays for my teammates."

Marcin Gortat contributed a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Wizards, while Bradley Beal also scored 19 and John Wall tallied 14 points with eight assists before fouling out in the extra session.

Drew Gooden added 18 points off the bench for Washington, which had its two- game winning streak snapped.

"To turn it around, go up by 11 points and give the game away, it hurts," said Gooden "They executed down the stretch and we couldn't get any rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins is a load."

Washington led 73-70 at the end of three quarters and the Wizards scored the first eight points of the fourth to take an 11-point lead.

A Gortat hook shot gave the Wizards a 92-82 lead with just under 4 1/2 minutes left in regulation when Gay scored seven points during an 11-4 run to help the Kings cut the deficit to three, 96-93.

Washington led by five after a pair of free throws from Beal and Thomas missed a 3-pointer with 21.9 seconds left at the other end. Cousins pulled down the board and tossed it back out to a wide-open Thomas, who made sure he wouldn't miss again, burying the trey to cut it to two.

Wall missed both free throws on Washington's ensuing possession and Gay made a running hook shot to knot it at 100-apiece, sending it to overtime.

After a Gay jumper, Sacramento led 106-101 before the Wizards made their last push.

Beal nailed a 3 minutes later to give the Wizards a 109-107 advantage with a 1:41 to play in overtime, but the Kings ended the game on a 10-2 run to secure the victory.

Gay's jumper with 37.8 ticks to play gave the hosts a two-point margin and Thomas went 4-for-4 from the line in the closing seconds for Sacramento's fourth straight win at home over the Wizards.

"I just liked that we didn't quit," said Kings coach Michael Malone. "We got back to being an aggressive team, a team that played with pride, rebounded and defended."

The Kings led 30-19 after the first quarter, but Washington trimmed the deficit to one, 47-46, at the break.
