Recap: Sacramento vs. Memphis

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Conley passed Rudy Gay on the Grizzlies' all-time games played list on Wednesday and helped Memphis beat Gay's Sacramento Kings, 99-89, at Sleep Train Arena.

Conley finished with 27 points and 10 assists for the red-hot Grizzlies, who have won 10 of their last 12 games. Zach Randolph scored 18 points and Marc Gasol added 12 points, five rebounds and five assists for the victors.

Isaiah Thomas and Gay accounted for 24 and 23 points, respectively, for the Kings, losers of five in a row and seven of their last eight.

"We're just not doing anything defensively. Teams are doing what they want, and we're not taking anything away. It's kind of embarrassing," Thomas said.

Neither team led by more than six over the first three quarters, which saw nine lead changes and nine ties.

Memphis took control in the fourth, forcing half of Sacramento's 12 turnovers in the final stanza to snap the Kings' streak of scoring 100-plus points at home at 13 straight games.

Conley came up big late.

Inside the final minute, the All-Star hopeful hit a 3-pointer to put Memphis on top 95-87, then led a fastbreak that ended with him dropping off a bounce pass for Tayshaun Prince for an easy game-sealing dunk.

"He's absolutely carried us," Memphis head coach Dave Joerger said of Conley. "He's an All-Star, no question."

Memphis led at the end of every quarter, albeit by slim margins. It was 25-24 after one, 48-46 at halftime and 69-63 heading to the fourth.
