LeBron James had nine points and Dwyane Wade scored eight after sitting out Miami's first preseason game, a win over Atlanta on Monday. James Jones scored 12 points off the bench for the two-time reigning NBA champions

Will Bynum led all players with 28 points for Detroit, Andre Drummond added 21 with 11 rebounds and Greg Monroe scored 13.

The Pistons opened the NBA preseason after winning an exhibition game over reigning Israeli Basketball Super League champions Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday.
