Knicks acquire Acy, Outlaw from Kings

New York, NY ( - The New York Knicks have acquired forwards Quincy Acy and Travis Outlaw from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for guard Wayne Ellington and forward Jeremy Tyler.

Acy averaged 2.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 63 games for the Raptors and Kings last season. He holds career averages of 3.1 points and 3.2 rebounds over 92 games in two seasons with Toronto and Sacramento.

Outlaw averaged 5.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 63 games for the Kings last season. He has averaged 8.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 622 career games (98 starts) over 11 seasons with the Blazers, Clippers, Nets and Kings.

Ellington holds career averages of 6.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 312 games over five NBA seasons with Minnesota, Memphis, Cleveland and Dallas. He was originally acquired by the Knicks in a multiple-player deal with the Mavericks on June 25.

Tyler posted averages of 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 41 games for the Knicks last season. He has averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 104 career games with Golden State, Atlanta and New York.

In another aspect of this transaction, the protection on the Knicks' 2016 second-round draft pick that was traded to Portland and subsequently dealt to Sacramento has been reduced. The trade was originally protected between the 31st and 37th picks.
