Brooklyn, NY ( - Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd said Tuesday that assistant coach Lawrence Frank will no longer be on the bench for games.

Kidd said Frank was reassigned to doing daily reports, saying the change was about "different philosophies."

The Nets were 5-12 going into Tuesday night's game against the Denver Nuggets.

Frank coached the Nets for parts of seven seasons from 2004-09. He was fired in November 2009 after an 0-16 start. He coached the Pistons for two seasons before they fired him in April.

The Nets hired Frank in June to be an assistant to Kidd, who played point guard for the team during Frank's tenure as coach.
