Toronto, ON ( - Dwane Casey will remain the head coach of the Toronto Raptors after agreeing to terms on a new three-year contract, according to the Toronto Star.

Casey, who led the Raptors to a franchise-record 48 regular-season wins and their first playoff appearance since 2007-08 during the 2013-14 campaign, was slated to have his original contract expire at the conclusion of the season.

The Raptors have improved their victory total in each of Casey's three years at the helm, going from a 23-43 mark during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season to 34 wins prior to claiming their second-ever Atlantic Division title with a 48-34 record in 2013-14.

Casey has gone 105-125 with the Raptors and owns an overall 158-194 record as a head coach. The 57-year-old previously directed the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2005-07.

Toronto was ousted by Brooklyn in a hard-fought seven-game series during the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, with the Nets taking the deciding Game 7 by a 104-103 score Sunday at the Air Canada Centre.
